Improve Your Reaction Time:
I get lots of emails asking me how to improve your reaction time. I'm not very quick myself, and my best advice is to drink a pot of coffee. So I asked the site's fastest users how they got so quick.
This is what they told me:
Don't concentrate on the text. If you read "click," your brain is taking too much time to read before reacting.
Don't focus too hard in one spot, use more peripheral vision (still looking at the box), and just click when "something" changes.
Alcohol and some medicine hurt your score.
- Argammon
Sit close to the monitor.
Find the spot on your mouse directly above the spring, and press down so you are just on the threshold of clicking.
- Nitro
Minimize distractions.
Stay hydrated and play when you're already alert.
- HitMe
Concentrate as much as possible.
Play lots of video games.

Any more good suggestions?

The first time I did it, I forced it to be fast. I pressed down on my mouse to be fast but my time was 320 ms. Instead, just try to pretend you're really bored. It really works! My time now is like 205 ms.

get a gaming mouse. because of the faster response time it will take like 20-30 ms off.

A ps2 mouse is faster than a usb. And your monitor lag causes differances in times.

Well I used to be an adventurer, but then I took an arrow to the knee. Now my reaction time suffers.

Use your thumb. If you pick up the mouse and have your thumb on the clicker and your index finger under the mouse, then squeeze. Sounds crazy, but it works for me. takes 20 to 30 ms off.

The monitor you use can have a big effect, sometimes adding up to 100ms to your score due to input lag and image processing.
For example, I had a 20 click average of 316.3 on my Samsung 58" plamsa HDTV with game mode on, while on my old CRT monitor my 20 click average was 227.1.

Practice improving reflexes regularly and you will get faster. It helps if you are already doing a sport or something at a level that demands fast reflexes. But, anyone can improve reflexes by working on them. Good hydration and cardio certainly help (but then again we should all be doing that anyway). As for technical tips to help speed up reaction time (on a computer test)you can: make sure your finger is positioned all the way on/around your mouse to get the fastest "click time", you can zoom in on the page (I think this is cheating but whatever) to get a bigger screen, and you can use your peripheral vision as other people have mentioned.
Hope this helps.

Based on my results, your own reaction time can vary based on how long you have been awake and how active you have been in that period. For example, I took the test after a lethargic day of playing video games +12 hours in. I averaged about 270ms. I woke up the next day, refreshed, and took the test again. I averaged 240ms. I then exercised the same day: a little cardio, nothing special. I averaged a whopping 198.

yeah count false clicks and you should include so the "under 100 ms" i made it under 100 trice in 2minutes (my best 47) so it can be done.

By imagining pain when the box turns green -- say imagine you are being pricked in the butt with a pin -- you can achieve monosynaptic nerve reflex which is significantly faster than intentional reactions.

Look below the box. Click when color changes. Don't try to read anything. Don't blink. Focus only on the color change.

Keep your eyes on the Average-reaction time - not the score you get on your click. Try to keep your reaction time as low as possible! It helps me!

Play while the boss might catch you. Downside: severe risk of twitching and clicking too soon.
